Do you guys know what Duse’s blush is? It’s a very popular story for actors. Eleanora Duse was a famous Italian actress back in Victorian times. When she played her character as Magda, she faced her most intimate friend in the scene and it made Magda (Eleanora) blush! As an acting student, it is absolutely beautiful how Eleanora was truly living Magda’s life.
In the book Meisner states “…that blush is the epitome of living truthfully under imaginary circumstances, which is my definition of good acting. That blush came out of her…”
Even if you are not an actor, you will find acting theories and techniques as a wonderful source of life lesson! After all, isn’t acting just a reflection of our lives? Even in real life, it is hard to live truthfully every moment or to be truthful to everyone.
Living truthfully and being aware of yourself and around you are very important.
Let’s live truthfully and consciously under any circumstances!
